St. Martinville – Plans are in place for another wonderful Chamber Banquet “Under the Big Top,” and your board of directors is working hard to make it a fun night!

First, please remember to return your ballots to Marian as soon as possible. Congratulations to Craig Prosper, Gloria Major, and Dana Theriot, who will serve as Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary, respectively, as they were nominated and ran unopposed. Good luck to the six very well qualified board members. And congratulations to Sydnie Mae Durand, who will serve as your president next year.

Second, please support your Chamber by buying raffle tickets! We’re raffling off a 42-inch LCD HDTV, $100 gift certificate to Mr Lester’s, and $50 cash from Marian’s Tax Service. Thanks to our three banks, First Louisiana, St. Martin Bank, and Teche Bank. They purchased the TV. Tickets are being distributed as we speak. BUY EARLY – BUY OFTEN! And, don’t forget to get items for our auction. It’s always entertaining to watch, and more fun to participate. Get in on the action!

Third, for those of you who didn’t make the last meeting, we are pleased to announce that we will once again have great music at the Banquet. The duo of Al Berard and Maegan Berard, a talented pair of musicians who also happen to be father and daughter, will entertain us for the evening. AND, our guest speaker is none other than Mr. Leo Honeycutt, television personality and author of “Edwin Edwards: Governor of Louisiana,” An Authorized Biography by Leo Honeycutt. Mr. Honeycutt will present a slide show of historic photographs of EWE that will take us down memory lane to present. He will autograph your copies of the book, and also sell copies that night!

So, mark your calendars for Thursday, April 22, at Woodmen of the World for the St. Martinville Chamber of Commerce Banquet!

 Come one, come all!
