St. Martinville – All the Mardi Gras festivities in the community were a big success. La Grande Boucherie, which benefits the youth of the community, always goes over big. The New Comers Parade, which has grown by leaps and bounds through the years, was organized 50 years ago and serves as a fund-raiser for charity. This year the parade was the biggest thus far.
The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are moving forward, working on the plans for the annual banquet, planned for April 22 at the Woodmen of the World building.
The nomination form for the election of officers and for the awards for the annual banquet have been sent. After the nominations are returned and counted, the ballots will then be sent out for voting. We hope to have everyone’s participation in the process.
