With the win, and another on Tuesday over Opelousas, the Bulldogs improved to 20-6 for the season and 8-2 in league play with only two regular season games remaining.
St. Martinville slipped to 20-12, 7-3 after the loss to Cecilia. Results of SM’s Friday game at Livonia were not available.
It was a back-and-forth game from the start when the two parish teams met on Feb. 9. And it went down to the wire, with the lead changing hands four times during the final minute of play.
Williams led all scorers with 27 points while Cedric George paced the Tigers with 13.
There were no reports on the results of the Breaux Bridge-Northside game played Feb. 9 or the BB-Teurlings game on Friday.
The regular season winds up this Friday with St. Martinville celebrating its WinterFest by hosting the league-leading Northside Vikings while Cecilia is at home against Teurlings Catholic and Breaux Bridge travels to Beau Chene.
