
Arnaudville – Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for Ezola Arnaud, 89, the former Ezola Begnaud, who passed away on Thursday, Jan.y 7, 2010, at 11:45 p.m. at her residence in Arnaudville.
Interment wase in St. Francis Regis Cemetery. The Rev. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, officiated at the services.
Mrs. Arnaud was a native and lived in Arnaudville most of her life. She was a devout Christian, putting others before herself. Mrs. Arnaud was a loving grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping and fishing and also enjoyed her trips to Evangeline Downs Casino. She was very unselfish and devouted to her family. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.
Survivors include ten grandchildren, Gail Stalcup and her husband John of Baton Rouge, Gina Walker and her husband Doug of Houston, Texas, Gary Holden and his fianceé Charlene of Butte La Rose, Glen Holden and his wife Desiree of Baton Rouge, Nolan Barras Jr. and his wife Nicole of Breaux Bridge, Harry Barras of Arnaudville, Richard Arnaud of Baton Rouge, Kim Arnaud of Baton Rouge, Kathy Sanches and her husband Chip of Greenwell Springs, and Shannon Arnaud of Arnaudville; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Zella Begnaud Naquin and her husband Calvin of Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Arnaud; her second husband, Danny Callier; her third husband, Anatole Arnaud; one son, Garry Arnaud; two daughters, Myrna Holden and Linda Barras; her parents, Maurice Begnaud and the former Euchariste Hardy; and one brother, Lloyd Begnaud.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Gary Holden, Glen Holden, Richard Arnaud, Harry Barras, Nolan Barras Sr. and Ralph Holden. Honorary pallbearers were Nolan Barras Jr. and Christopher Sanches.
