Breaux Bridge – Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Merline Ann Clement, 59, who passed away on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at her residence.

Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

Father James Fallon will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

Ms. Clement was employed for 40 years with the SMILE Community Action Agency - Head Start program. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Catechism Coordinator, and was also a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Castille Clement of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Malcolm Clement Jr. (Betty) of Breaux Bridge and Feranand Clement of Carencro; and ten sisters, Mary Ann Roberts (Martin) of Lafayette, Barbara Durand (Peter) of Zachary, Eula Derouselle (Matthew) of Lafayette, Lita McZeal, of Breaux Bridge, Angelina Ross, of Breaux Bridge, Linda Skipper (John) of Lafayette, Cora John (Brian) of Breaux Bridge, Leona Senegal (Alton) of Lafayette, Rebecca John (Melvin) of Breaux Bridge and Cheryl Clement of St. Martinville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm Clement Sr.; her paternal grandparents, Cora Lee and Anthony Clement; and maternal grandparents, Leona and Fernand Castille.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday.

A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday.
