The playoff pairings were announced late Monday by the Louisiana High School Athletice Association (LHSAA).
Cecilia’s Lady Bulldogs claimed the district championship in Division III-Class 3A while the Lady Tigers of Division II-Class 4A finished as runners-up in their district.
Both teams drew byes in the first round of the playoffs and will meet yet-to-be-determined opponents in the second round of play next Monday, Nov. 9.
Cecilia wrapped up its regular season last week with a win over Patterson and a loss to E.D. White on Thursday. The Lady ’Dogs compiled a regular season record of 24-8 and 5-1 and are seeded at No. 7 in the playoff bracket.
Breaux Bridge (20-8, 6-2) defeated St. Martinville and Westgate and drew the No. 5 seed in the 4A bracket.
Other area Class 4A teams in playoff action include St. Thomas More (No. 1), Westgate (No. 21) and Northside (No. 18)
Among the teams in Class 3A reaching the playoffs are E.D. White (No. 4), Teurlings Catholic (No. 11), Notre Dame (No. 1), Crowley (No. 17) and Rayne (No. 12).
