BREAUX BRIDGE – The St. Martin School Board will hold its monthly meeting today (Wednesday) at 5 p.m. in the Instructional Center, 111 Courville Street, Breaux Bridge.
Heading up a rather brief agenda, in addition to routine matters, are:
•Approve recommendations of assignment of bond projects to interested consultants.
•Consider negotiating with Mrs. Bobby Jean Daigle and Mrs. Thelma Jolivet for the purchase of their 28 arpents of land adjoining the Teche Elementary School campus.
•Executive (secret) session to discuss 1) settlement negotiations in the matter entitled “Joyce Calais vs. St. Martin School Board;” and 2) discuss labor and employment issues and threat of litigation.
•Discuss the following at the request of the cited board members:
1) Breaux Bridge area schools (Richard Potier).
2) Ability grouping (Mark Hebert).
3) Concerns about board perception and reality about present and future problems in school system (Rodney Ledoux).
•Consider changes to the attendance policy.
•Consider waiver of sales tax penalties for Smith International Inc.
