SULPHUR - The Delcambre Lady Panthers once again returned to the Class 1A semifinals at the Fastpitch 56.

The defending state champions defeated Archbishop Hannan 3-0 Friday to advance to the semis for the fourth straight year.

Jenny Bouillion put Delcambre up 1-0 in the bottom of the first when she tripled home Tailor Broussard. The score remained that way until the bottom of the fourth.

Kelli Daigle extended the Lady Panthers’ edge when she smacked a pinch-hit single down the right-field line that scored Bouillion and Kellie Nero. That put Delcambre up 3-0.

Hannan scored a run in the top of the seventh, but Jaci Trahan finished off a complete game by striking out the last batter.

Delcambre will face the winner of Friday’s matchup between South Cameron and Ascension Catholic Saturday at 11 a.m. A win would advance the Lady Panthers to their second straight title game. The Class 1A championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m.
