Juveniles to be charged as adults

CROWLEY – An Acadia Parish Grand Jury indicted three Crowley juveniles yesterday afternoon for the April 1, 2009 murder of Linda Bonin. The crime occurred in the 200 block of West 14th Street. All three juveniles were indicted for first degree murder, attempted first degree murder and forcible rape. All three defendants have been indicted as adults, thus those charged in the crime are identified as: Kevin Francis, 16, of Crowley; Ryan Williams, 15, of Crowley; and Claude Morrison, Jr., 15, of Crowley.

The same Grand Jury also heard testimony regarding the March 3, 2009 shooting death of Eric Beverly. Beverly was shot outside of his residence in the 400 block of North Avenue E. The Grand Jury indicted three juveniles regarding the Beverly homicide. Two of the juveniles were also indicted in the Bonin case as well. All three juveniles were indicted for first degree murder and armed robbery. All three were indicted as adults, thus they have been identified as: Kevin Francis, 16, of Crowley; Ryan Williams, 15, of Crowley; and Ove Wilson, 15, of Crowley.

Bond on each suspect has been set at $1,000,000 per case. All defendants will be transferred in the near future to the Acadia Parish Jail.

“I would like to congratulate all of our officers working on both of these cases for their hard work. Our Criminal Investigation Division has worked non-stop to get these indictments and still have work to do. Their dedication has put some closure to these cases,” stated Chief Gibson.

“I would also like to thank the District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Angie Wagar and Mr. Roger Hamilton for working with us from day one to help secure these indictments,” stated Chief Gibson.
