ST. MARTINVILLE – Hundreds of Cycle Zydeco riders took a break from their first day of pedaling in the annual off a four-day, 200-mile bike tour through Acadiana.

Some pitched tents in Parc des Ponts de Pont Breaux (park of bridges) and some bivouacked in the St. Bernard School gym.

The riders had lunch beneath the spreading Evangeline Oak in St. Martinville on Thursday and were on the levee at Henderson early Friday morning.

After leaving St. Martin Parish, Cycle Zydeco went to Arnaudville, Port Barre, Washington, Mamou, Eunice and Grand Coteau.
