There’s lots of new items at this year’s Dewey Balfa Cajun/Creole Heritage Week (DBCCHW), which runs from April 17, to April 24. The 10th celebration, this event brings people from across the United States and the world to learn about our Cajun and Creole heritage. There are a lot of new attractions this year including a live boucherie, which is being conducted by the Lake View Park family of Eunice, consisting of the Pitre and Rodriguez families and their friends. Residents will be able to enjoy, as well as watch, the making of boudin, cracklins, back bone stew, barbecue, hog head cheese and freisseur from 7 a.m. until early afternoon when the process is completed. The city will be conducting a sweet shop filled with lots of old sweets like syrup cakes.
