Amy Lewis allegedly used physical force to persuade a child to take this week’s mandatory tests at school on Wednesday. She faces charges as a result.

Eunice police were called to Central Middle School about 8 a.m. to investigate a complaint of a woman abusing a child.

According to reports, Lewis was allegedly hitting her daughter’s head against a van because the girl did not want to go to school to take a test.

Louisiana students this week are taking LEAP and other required annual tests.

The report did not list the child’s age or grade level. Middle school is fifth and sixth grades.

Lewis, 39, of 210 Threatt was arrested and charged with domestic abuse battery.

Whether the child took the test is not known.
