St. Martinville – Services were conducted for Ms. Lorraine Savoy, 63, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Mallalieu United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eugene Hebert officiating.

A native and lifelong resident of St. Martinville, she died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at 10:35 at Dauterive Hospital.

Ms. Savoy was a member of Mallalieu United Methodist Women Organization and a retiree of BellSouth Phone Company.

Survivors include one daughter, Dr. Kimberly Smith Dauterive (Phillip Dauterive) of St. Martinville; seven brothers, Nolan Savoy, Calvin Savoy, Christopher Savoy and Vaughn Savoy, all of St. Martinville, and Gregory Savoy, Clark Savoy and Leslie Savoy of California; three sisters, Earline Phearse and Charlotte Durand of St. Martinville, and Barbara Francis of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, James Jacquet Jr. and Leah Imani Gerard.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Lewis Savoy; her father, Clarence Savoy; a granddaughter, Mallory Dauterive; and one sister, Eleanor Rose Savoy.

Pallbearers were James Jacquet Jr., Phillip Dauterive Jr., Rodney Eugene Phearse, Clarence Perrio, Christopher Savoy and Kevin Mitchell.

Honorary pallbearers were Gregory Savoy, Nolan Savoy, Calvin Savoy, Vaughn Savoy, Leslie Savoy and Clark Savoy.

The Golden Meadows Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
