Roseland man arrested after foot pursuit

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office released that a Roseland man has been arrested after an intense foot chase. Two deputies pursued the suspect on foot through the streets of Roseland. Four deputies were present to apprehend the suspect.

At approximately 1:30 on the morning of Monday, March 2, deputies John Eady, Bobby Guy and Anthony Williams initiated a traffic stop on Faith Street in Roseland. When the deputies approached the vehicle, the suspect got out and ran. The suspect, identified as Myron Dokes, ran east to an apartment complex, then turned south and entered the complex. He ran through the complex and into a thick set of bushes, he then ran across two fields and a barbed wire fence. Deputy Bobby Guy ran the suspect down in the second field. At which point he was handcuffed.

Deputies Anthony Williams and David Copeland assisted in the search of Dokes and his vehicle. Dokes has two clear bags containing what was believed to be marijuana on his person. Seven more bags of what was believed to be marijuana, two bags with a rock like substance believed to be crack cocaine, and $816 were seized from Dokes' vehicle.

Myron Dokes, 34, Buchannan Lane in Roseland was arrested and charged with three counts of resisting an officer by flight on foot, possession with intent to distribute schedule one and two narcotics, four counts of failure to appear and no tail lights. He was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
