Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery.
The Rev. Stephen Ugwu officiated at the funeral Mass. Readers were Jasmine Narcisse and Chalice Ebow. Gift bearers were Tamara Dugas, Dashella Taylor, Rolanda Jackson, and Paul Dugas Jr.
Mrs. Dugas was a parishioner of St. Louis Chapel in Parks, where she was a member of the Altar Society, Rosary Group and the St. Paul Benevolent Society. She was a wonderful seamstress and always enjoyed having coffee with family and friends. She loved to cook and bake and always offered her visitors a chance to taste and praise her good cooking. A devout Catholic, Maenora prayed daily, offering her prayers for anyone in need, often telling family and friends to “Always have God in your life.”
Survivors include three sons, Paul G. Dugasof Houston, Daniel J. Dugas (Clara) of Shreveport, and Gerard L. Dugas of San Pedro, Calif.; two daughters, Stella M. Jackson of Baton Rouge and Virginia Dugas of Parks; two sisters, Hazel Solari and Agnes Wiltz (Faulton) of Houston; eight grandchildren, Dashella, Rolanda, Tamara, Danielle, Damien, Paul Jr., Ashley, and James; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dugas; parents, Simeon and Laura Potier Thibodeaux; an infant son; one brother, Rogers Thibodeaux; and three sisters, Margaret Ebow, Josephine Roberts, and Harriet Harris.
A rosary was recited at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Pallbearers were Damien Jackson, James Dugas, Paul Dugas Jr., Rogers Wiltz, Carl Roberts, Alonzo Narcisse and Phillip Harris.
Honorary pallbearers were Paul Dugas, Daniel Dugas, Gerard Dugas, Charles Ray Solari, Philip Solari Jr., Nathan Thibodeaux, Mark Roberts, Waldo Dugas, Rudolph Dugas, Allen Roberts, Zachary Narcisse and Chad Shelton.
Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
