St. Martinville — The Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud and Auto Theft Unit arrested St. Martinville State Farm Insurance employee Wendy Dore on accusations of keeping her customers' premiums for herself and charging their coverage on a credit card that she fraudulently acquired.

The Department of Insurance reports that Dore made withdrawals from two life insurance policies and made changes to those policies to have premium payments mailed directly to her home.

According to the cease and desist order issued by the Department of Insurance, she also pocketed $734 in overpayment premiums that she concealed by entering false statements into the firm's computer system.

She was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center Monday, March 9 on charges of unfair trade procedures, two counts of identity theft and theft over $700. She was served with a cease and desist order, notice of license revocation and a $10,000 fine notice.
