ST. MARTINVILLE – St. Martinville Sr. High will be hosting its Tiger Baseball Classic beginning Thursday (Feb. 26) and running through Saturday. The Tigers and Breaux Bridge will be among the teams featured, along with Northwest, Delcambre, Jeanerette, Northside, Franklin and Breaux Bridge.

First round action begins at 4 p.m. Thursday, with the championship game set for 7 p.m. on Saturday. St. Martinville plays Northwest at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Breaux Bridge will open against Loreauville at 5:30 pm. Friday.

Cecilia High School will also host a tournament this weekend, running from Friday through Sunday.

Regular season action resumes next Tuesady, March 3, with St. Martinville and Cecilia on the road at Franklin and Church Point, respectively, while Breaux Bridge hosts New Iberia in a game set for 6 p.m.

With an early deadline due to Mardi Gras, the Teche News was not able to secure any results from Breaux Bridge High’s JV-Varsity baseball jamboree held this past weekend.
