The incident began in Rayne just before 2 p.m. Thursday, Acadia Sheriff’s Narcotics officers attempted to stop two black males for having illegal window tinting and a switched license plate.
As soon as the suspects noticed the authorities were on their tail, they raced onto La. 75 toward I-10.
Officials stated that the chase was reached speeds of over 115 miles per hour and took them all the way to Crowley.
Other units joined the chase after being called for assistance and finally forced the suspects to the side of the road. The suspects then abandoned their vehicle and ran into the woods near the Sensat Cove area.
Police activated their crime suppression team and enlisted help from Rayne and State Police to locate the fleeing suspects.
A significant amount of narcotics were found in the vehicle. Acadia Sheriff’s officials stated that they will pursue the suspects until they are apprehended.
They are identified as Steven Bias, 28, of Crowley, and his brother Marcus Bisa, 25,also of Crowley.
Neither has been captured as of press time.
