The next step is to get approval from landowners to drill a test well at the water plant site near Atchafalaya Acres, he said.
“After we get the landowner signatures, we we’ll start the bidding process for the drilling company to drill the well,” Menard said.
“If and when the test well has been drilled, it will be determined if the quality of the water will be treatable and adequate for our water system,” he said.
St. Martin Parish Government has approved the funding for the test well in its 2009 budget, Menard said.
