
Air Force Master Sergeant Aki A. Summers has recently been promoted to the rank of master sergeant.
While only serving in the United States Air Force for 15 years, achieving this next rank does truly in itself signify a significant accomplishment in her career.
MSgt Summers is now serving as the Superintendent of Information & Security Management, Field Operating Base located on Yongsan Army Installation, Seoul-Korea with the Defense Intelligence Agency. Prior to her new assignment she was stationed at the Air Force Element/DH, Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington, DC as the NCOIC, of Information Management. She was awarded and received the Joint Service Commendation Medal for her outstanding service and contributions during her four-year tour of duty there. Recently, MSgt Summers was nominated into the General Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Washington, DC Chapter. MSgt Summers continues to thank God, her very supportive family, and co-workers and friends for all of her accomplishments. She insists that if you can believe it then you can achieve it!
MSgt Summers has two children, David M. Summers and Christian R. Summers. She is the daughter of Lela S. Summers of Rayville and the late Billy Ray Garrett. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mattie Stewart of Monroe and the late Bruce and Minnie Summers. Her godmother is Thelma N. Pellar of Rayville.
