Cecilia – Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Randy James Savoy, 48, who died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Doctor’s Hospital in Opelousas.

Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Scriptures were read by Jason Guidry and gifts will be presented to the Altar by Randz Savoy.

Randy enjoyed doing carpentry work, fishing, cooking, dancing and playing cards. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Randy cherished all of his children and grandchildren, especially his son-in-law, Jason, who was like a son to him.

Survivors include his son, Randz Aaron Savoy of Cecilia; two daughters, Aftan Guidry and her husband Jason, and Tanesha Hebert and her husband Scott, all of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Carl J. Savoy and his wife Dottie of Philadelphia, and Clyde Savoy of Cecilia; and six grandchildren, Hannah Guidry, Terry Hebert, Destiney Hebert, Brea Hebert, Bentli Guidry and Braizli Guidry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Virginia Trammel Savoy; a brother, Chester Wayne Savoy; and two sisters, Cheryl Savoy and Dale Savoy.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Pallbearers were Carl J. Savoy, Clyde Savoy, Jason Guidry, Scott Hebert, Russell Patin, and Carl J. Savoy Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Eric and Nick Savoy.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
