Mrs. Ann Hutchings of Jennings has been awarded the 2008 Gold Apple Award by Alpha Kappa Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. It was presented by Nancy Allbritton.

This award is given annually to a member who has given distinctive service to teaching and to Delta Kappa Gamma. The recipient must have held Delta Kappa Gamma membership for a minimum of 10 years. She should attend meetings on a regular basis and be actively involved in the Chapter's activities.

The 2008 recipient, Ann Hutchings, meets all of the above criteria. She was initiated into the Society and immediately took on leadership roles. Prior to her retirement as a Home Economics teacher at Lacassine High School, Ann served as 2nd Vice-President, 1st Vice-President, and President of the Chapter. She regularly attends chapter meetings. In her earlier years, she seldom missed a district meeting or State Convention. She has served this organization well.Mrs. Hutchings is also the mother of two grown sons.
