CROWLEY – Funeral services for Louis Harold “Pops” Benoit, 73, who died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at his residence in Crowley, were held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.

Father Gary Schexnayder and Rev. Wesley Roy officiated the services.

Burial took place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.

He is survived by his mother, Annie Duhon Jagneaux of Crowley; his wife of 40 years, Jane Benoit of Crowley; two daughters, Joan Robison and her husband Bruce of Crowley and Robin Bryant of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, Louis Benoit, Jr. of Houston, Troy Benoit and his wife Tammy of Crowley and Kevin Benoit of Crowley; four brothers, Floyd Benoit of Texas, Leo Benoit of Texas, Carol Benoit of Texas and Larry Jagneaux of Louisiana; three sisters, Barbara Jagneaux of Crowley, Patsy Jagneaux of Egan and Donna Gaudet of Crowley; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren with one due in January, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Pops is preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Clegg Benoit; one daughter, Tammy Dickerson; one grandson, Christopher Bryant; his father, Wilson Benoit; and two step-brothers, Francis and Eugene Jagneaux.

Serving as pall bearers were Troy, Justin, Dylan and Joshua Benoit; Bruce Robison and David Roy. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Kevin, Floyd, Leo and Carol Benoit.

Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was entrusted with the arrangements.
