A’Miyah Lashae Yokum celebrated her second birthday on Saturday, September 20 with a “Dora the Explorer”themed party held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center. Her actually birth date is September 13, 2006.

The honoree is the daughter of La’Daysha Joseph and Wesley Yokum, III. She is the granddaughter of Marilyn Scott and Wesley Yokum, Jr. and the great granddaughter of Audrey Joseph, Clara Pollard and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Yokum. Her great, great grandmother is Maggie Scott.

Guests were served barbecue hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, fettuccine, chicken salad sandwiches, Swedish meatballs, juice, birthday cake and cupcakes.

Entertainment such as a “Dora the Explorer” fun jump, face painting, sack races, a bubble factory and a surprise visit from a “Dora” impersonator.

The celebration accommodated approximately 50 friends and family members.

Honored as A’Miyah’s special guest was her sibling, Rapheus Josseph.
