“Loving Grandmother”
Abbeville – A Mass of Christian Burial for Ms. Lucille “Lula Bell” Stevenson, 88, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Saint Theresa Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Mayne officiating. A Rite of committal will follow in Saint Paul Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:30 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00 AM.
Ms. Stevenson, a native and resident of Abbeville, passed on Monday, November 3, 2008 at 1:01 PM in a Lafayette Hospital.
She was a cook at the Abbeville Country Club for over 20 years.
She is leaves to cherish her fond memories, four grandchildren, Torlin Williams, Elaine Evans Provost, Glenda Broussard, and Cleotter Evans-Simein; seven great-grandchildren, Brock Evans, Jakobie Huntsberry, Arlayshya Shelton, Peter Broussard, III, Joshua Broussard, Justin Broussard, and John Provost, Jr.; one great-great-grandchild Bryce Shelton, and a daughter-in-law, Juanita W. Evans.
She unites in glory with her son, Henry A. Evans, Jr.; her parents, Urssin Stevenson, Sr. and Mercedes Pierre Stevenson; two sisters, Zemma Bessard and Eva Robinson; and two brothers, Urssin Stevenson, Jr. and Leon “Black” Stevenson.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Guillory, Brock Tyler Evans, John Provost, Jr., Peter Broussard, III, Jakobie Huntsberry, and Torlin Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Simien, Jr., Peter Broussard, Jr., George Williams, Irvin Levy, Richard Petry, Patrick Stevenson, Sr., Marvin Greene and Wilfred Sereal, Sr..
The family has requested and is receiving professional care from Fletcher Funeral Home of Abbeville.

Wayne Alleman passed away Nov. 6, 2008 in a Lafayette Hospital. He was 61.
David Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of the arrangements.
Lula Mae Menard strong>
Lula Mae Lange Menard will be buried Friday at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath.
Visitation will be from this morning, starting at eight until time of service.
She passed away on Nov. 4, 2008.
