MAURICE - Sunrise Realty, Abbeville, Louisiana, announces that a new 72-apartment complex is being planned for the Village of Maurice.

The site is located just south of Maurice on U.S. Hwy. 167 within the corporate limits with construction scheduled to begin sometime in early 2009.

“The development will feature several amenities in both the apartments and throughout the complex.” said James Noel, Owner/Broker of Sunrise Realty, which helped locate and contract the property to Provident Realty Advisors, Inc., out of Dallas, Texas.

The architectural design will produce the highest quality product possible. The complex will offer an elegant clubhouse which includes community room, kitchen, swimming pool, fitness center, playground and full service business center. Apartment amenities will include 9-foot ceilings with ceiling fans and light fixtures in all bedrooms and living room, microwaves, washer and dryer, frost-free refrigerator, range and oven, garbage disposal, patio and/or balcony.

The apartment community will be developed by the same company developing Stonebridge Apartments in Abbeville on Rodeo Road, with both being a part of the disaster relief fund that was created after Hurricane Rita. The rents will be based on the Area Median Income (AMI) for Vermilion Parish. The AMI for Vermilion Parish in 2008 is $45,800. These rents are targeted to the Vermilion Parish work force such as; teachers, policemen, oilfield workers, firemen and nurses. The project is contingent on the completion of the sewer project for the Village of Maurice within the next 12 to 24 months.

The complex in Maurice will be managed by Lane Management, LLC, a company which manages approximately 28,000 apartments in 11 southeastern states with very strict rental requirements such as, credit checks, rental history, and income verification. Any felony convictions are automatically denied.

“Maurice Mayor Bob Ferguson has been very helpful in the pre-construction process”, Noel stated. Mayor Ferguson feels like the timing is right for the complex, and will be a great addition to the Village of Maurice.
