Mayor Bob Morris asked City Council members on Tuesday to submit their road improvement lists in time for a Thursday review.

A memo to council members said he, At-large Alderman Jack Burson, Building Inspector Gary Bult and engineer Andre Aucoin would review the lists on Thursday.

The intention is to create a priority list for the $900,000 improvement program in the year beginning July 1.

In past years, the city has done street improvements in alternating years, banking sales tax revenue one year and spending it the next.

In FY 2008-09, it plans to spend $500,000 banked in the current year and $400,000 in revenue from next year.

In his memo, the mayor said he felt the change "is in large part due to my more efficient running of city government."
