St. Martinville — With school bells quiet for three weeks now, parents need not scramble to find safe outdoor activities to occupy their young ones.

The St. Martinville public pool located at the corner of Berard and Theater Streets is open Wednesday through Friday from 2-5 p.m. when kids can swim for $1.

The pool is also used by several summer camps that allow their participants to use the pool as a weekly outing.

The City of St. Martinville will sponsor a swimming camp at the pool hosted by Trent Delahoussaye during the week of July 21-25. This program will be offered free to children ages 8-16.

The highly trained lifeguard staff has been nationally recognized for the stringent safety standards that it maintains.

Not just for kids

Though the St. Martinville swimming pool will offer safe entertainment for hundreds of children this summer, adults can also enjoy the refreshing recreation.

Adult lap swimming is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 a.m. Swimming lessons for adults are offered at 6:30 p.m. on those same days.
