DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. Elie David, the former Henrietta Dubois, age 97, Monday, June 2, 2008 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Herb Bennerfield will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Abbeville, Mrs. David passed away at 9:07 am Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Maison du Monde Nursing Home
Mrs. David was a homemaker and devout catholic. She devoted her life to caring for her son, who passed away three years ago. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Audrey Bouillion, Rebecca Migues, Beverly Labry, Keith Simon, Kathy Hebert, Robert Thibodeaux, Sandra Broussard, Neil Thibodeaux and Monica Langlinais; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elie David; her son, Davy Lee David; parents, Vildac and Perpetue Thibodeaux Dubois; sisters, Marie Louise Thibodeaux, Anna Belle Thibodeaux and Rosy Belle Simon; and a nephew, Theodore Thibodeaux, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Neil and Robert Thibodeaux, Keith Simon, Kevin Landry, and Todd and Bart Bouillion.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Mrs. David’s caregivers, Doreinne Sherrer and Carol Ozenne, for the love and compassion shown to Mrs. David.
