Immediately following Mass awards and scholarships were presented, with the following students being recognized:
Adrienne Trahan and Garrett Fabacher were given the KC Catholic Youth Leadership Awards.
Eric Menard was given the 4th Degree KC Patriotic Award.
Rosemary Cook was given the Albert Zock Memorial Scholarship.
Celeste Guidry was given the Ashleigh Miller Memorial Scholarship.
Zachary Benoit and Samantha Leger were given the Father Stanley P. Begnaud Scholarship and the Frances T. Habetz Scholarship.
Ty Melancon and Emily Landry were given the American Patriotism Award Certificate and Bronze Medal.
Celeste Guidry was given the Three Ten Club Scholarship.
Emily Landry and Ethan Melancon were given the Rayne Chamber of Commerce, Rayne’s Outstanding Young Citizen and Outstanding Ag Student Awards.
Adrienne Trahan was given the Crowley Chamber Outstanding Young Citizen Award.
Megan Lebeouf and Mary Schmid were given the Crowley Kiwanis Club Scholarships.
Ross Grotefend was given the Joe Dischler Memorial Scholarship.
Elizabeth Istre was given the Pink Ladies Scholarship.
Maggie Doucet was given the Crawford T. Johnson, III Scholarship.
Emily Landry was given the U.S. Rice Federation Scholarship.
Maggie Doucet was given the Rayne Lions Club Service Award.
Emily Landry was given the Rayne American Legion Oratorial Award.
Caleb Ardoin was given the Woodman of the World Patriotism Award.
Julia Maynard, Emily Landry, Andrew Prevost and Benjamin Koch were given the NDHS speech and drama awards.
Julia Maynard was given the Acadia Players Board Award.
Josh Foreman was given the Principal’s Award.
Michael Benoit, Heidi Bourgeois, J.W. Faulk, Will Ohlenforst, Joe Dave Petitjean, Lauren Rothermel, Heidi Schmid, Andrew Schumacher, Tiffany Vidrine, Andrew Welter and Katie Whiting were given Fritz Lang Scholarships.
Alexis Sarver was given the Myrta Fair Craig Memorial Scholarship.
William Ohlenforst was given the Irene M. Petitjean Memorial Scholarship.
Emily Landry was given the Crowley Rotary Club Scholarship.
Emily Landry was named Student of the Year.
Alexis Sarver was given the PIO Spirit Award.
Timothy Melancon, Jr. and Adrienne Trahan were given the American Legion Awards.
At 7 p.m. the graduates came together for the final time at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church for Commencement Exercises. xxx delivered the Valedictory Address.
The Catholic Action Awards, Notre Dame’s most prestigious awards, were presented to the outstanding boy and girl displaying qualities of leadership, service to community and church, and Christian attitude toward all they meet. The recipients were voted on by their classmates. Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Chancellor of Notre Dame and pastor of St. Michael Church in Crowley, presented the awards to Alexis Claire Sarver, daughter of Tommy and Jody Sarver and Andrew Philip Schumacher, son of Pam Darr and Scott Schumacher.
A special tribute was paid to Mrs. Rena M. Boudreaux. Mrs. Boudreaux is the 2008 inductee into the Notre Dame High School Shoe of Fame.
