Breaux Bridge – Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Iola Mary Green, 65, who passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at her residence in Breaux Bridge. Interment followed at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

Rev. James Fallon, SSJ, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, conducted the services and Lionel Batiste read.

Iola visited the sick and gave love to everyone especially family and her husband, Paul of 50 years. People often expressed how they enjoyed eating the food that she prepared with love. She would have fed her entire community, but she always provided food to those in need.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Antoine Green of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, Hazel Joseph and her husband Herbert of Dallas, Texas, Sandra G. Davis and her husband Joseph of Breaux Bridge, Saraphina Green of Breaux Bridge and Rebecca Sylvester and her husband Nelson of Gulf Port, Miss.; her brothers, Edward Wiltz and Wilfred Scypion, both of Port Arthur; her sisters, Margaret Zenon of Parks, Hazel Wiltz of Breaux Bridge, Rosalyn Harris and Mary Wiltz both of Port Arthur; her sister-in-law, Virgie Green of Breaux Bridge; her 11 grandchildren, Ignatius Joseph, Maegan Davis, Joshua Davis, Donovan Green, Jordanna Green, Kyle Davis, Simone Davis, Seth Green, Deion Davis, Niyi Green and Brittany Payne; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin F. Wiltz and Mary Ann Potier Wiltz; and her granddaughter, Jarona Green.

A rosary was recited at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Pallbearers were Donald Keith Jean Lewis, Joseph Davis, Ignatius Joseph, Clovis Sylvester Jr., Donovan Green and Emile Henry.

Honorary pallbearers were Louis Green, Melvin Hypolite, Herbert Joseph, Jonas Smith and Joshua Davis.

Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
