Breaux Bridge’s Lady Tigers won two of their three District 5-4A games last week while the Lady Bulldogs of Cecilia picked up two 6-3A wins to finish their season on a positive note. With BB at 12-12, 8-3 and one game remaining in regular season action and Cecilia finishing at 11-18-2, 4-4, both parish squads are hoping to advance to the state softball playoffs.

The Bridge notched big wins over Opelousas (12-1) and Abbeville (12-0) before losing a 6-5 heartbreaker to Beau Chene on Saturday.

Cecilia topped North Vermilion (6-1) and second place Catholic High of New Iberia (1-0) to finish strong.

St. Martinville edged Northside (10-7) early in the week but fell hard (11-0) to the league leading Teurlings Catholic Lady Rebels on Saturday, leaving the Lady Tigers with a 5-6 district mark.
