She was born July 7, 1958, in the town of St. Martinville, La. To those that were fortunate enough to call Renée a friend and/or relative, we will remember the ways she has touched our lives. Renée was known as a generous person. She was always a giver and a positive presence when you needed a lift. If you needed a pick-me-up Renée had the ability to have you smiling and laughing and wondering why you were upset in the first place.
Renée worked in the physical therapy field for many years. She made a big impact on the people she encountered. Her favorite part about working in the field was the opportunity to meet new people, many of whom became a big part of her life.
Despite Renée’s recent health struggles, she would always bounce back and be an encouragement to others. She had a heart for the elderly and a hand for the needy. She was a lover of family and a listener to the grieving and a friend to the friendless. To know Renée was to love Renée.
Renée is survived by her husband, Steve Laviolette; son, Rusty Laviolette and his fiancée, Mandy Melancon; grandson, Peyton Laviolette; mother, Anita Randazzo Dautreuil; sisters, Carmen Lisa Prados and Dionne Dautreuil; and several nieces and nephews.
Renée was preceded in death by her father, Gaston Dautreuil Jr.; and her brother, Gaston “Guy” Dautreuil III.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
