Lafayette, La. Tech entries win first night of Miss Louisiana judging

MONROE – Competition in the Miss Louisiana pageant continues Friday night with the second round of preliminaries.

On Thursday, Miss Lafayette Mallory Cox, a pianist, won the talent portion and Miss Louisiana Tech Lauren Vizza won physical fitness honors in the first day of the 49th annual pageant at the W.L. “Jack” Howard Theatre.

Thirty-six women are competing to represent the state in the Miss America Pageant.

The title will be awarded Saturday night.

At the beginning of the final night, the field will be narrowed to the Top 10 finalists.
