Ellsworth, Kan. – Lee Roy John Guidroz, 69, died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Ellsworth County Medical Center.

He was born July 8, 1942, in Arnaudville to Elizabeth (Zula) Angelle and Louis Fondal Guidorz. He lived in Lafayette for most of his life. He moved to Ellsworth, Kansas in 2007.

He is survived by his daughter, Beverly and her husband Jim Hlad of Sylvan Grove, Kan.; his grandsons Zach Hlad and Kyle Hlad; his granddaughter Kadie Hlad; his sister Shirley G. Summers of Broussard; his brother Keith Guidroz of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Cora Lee Guidroz.

“Johnny” joined the Army in 1959 and he loved to share stories about the time he spent in Germany. Following his time in the Army, he returned to Louisiana and worked various jobs. He loved to make people laugh and share a meal or cup of coffee with his friends and family. Johnny’s wonderful smile will be remembered well by those who knew and loved him.

A private family memorial service will be held in Kansas. A public memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Ellsworth County Medical Center and Ellsworth Good Samaritan Society for the care and support they provided.
