Mrs. Babineaux, “Nin,” as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was born on June 2, 1911 in Catahoula, Louisiana. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother, who lived a long and beautiful life, which was spent caring for and nurturing her family. Nin loved to sew, creating numerous articles of clothing for her family, and friends as well. She was a wonderful cook and looked forward to doing so for her family on any given occasion. No matter when anyone would stop in to visit, she always had a fresh pot of coffee waiting to which she’d gladly offer you a cup and sit down to visit with you. Nin also loved to go shopping, especially with her daughters, those were times well spent, which she treasured dearly.

She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Joseph “Al” Alvin Babineaux of New Iberia, her three daughters, Ellen (Farrell) Desormeaux of Abbeville, Mamie (Marvin) Blundell of Lafayette and Christy (Randy) LeBlanc of Lafayette; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Babineaux; father, David Talley; mother, Laurence Bijeau Talley; and her daughters, Jenny Romero and Margie Crocker.

Pallbearers were Robert Babineaux, Kurt Babineaux, Kenny Desormeaux, Tommy Desormeaux, Larry Blun-dell, and Robert Romero.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Healthcare and Hospice of Acadiana for the excellent care given.
