ALEXANDRIA – Services will be Thursday for retired advertising firm owner Charles Fowler, Sr. He died May 8 at age 93.
Active in a number of professional and civic organizations, he was owner of Midsouth Advertising.
Survivors include his wife Patricia, a son and two daughters.
Arrangements are by Hixson Bros.
Former LSUE baseball player
BATON ROUGE – Services will be Friday for former LSU Eunice baseball player Taylor Russell. He drowned in Lake Maurepas on May 5 at age 26.
He was a swimming pool contractor.
Survivors include his parents, Keith and Tina Russell and his fiance.
Arrangements are by Resthaven.
Auto parts magnate
ROSEPINE – Services will be Friday for auto parts empire owner and entrepreneur Henry Rogers. He died May 3 at age 72 in Longview, Texas.
He started H Rogers Auto Parts in 1969 in Vernon Parish and it grew to seven auto parts stores throughout the state, a machine shop, mobile home business, general store, used car sales, furniture store and Uncle Henry’s Barbeque.
Survivors include his wife Claytonia and seven children.
Police juror
LONGSTREET – Services will be Thursday for police juror Jerry Moncrief. He died May 7 at age 62.
He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force and operated a golf business. He was elected to the DeSoto Parish Police Jury n 2007.
Survivors include his wife Dolly and three daughters.
Wireless sound expert
NEW ORLEANS – Services for wireless sound system expert Philip Spangenberg will be Thursday. He died May 6 at age 58.
He was one of two founding partners in Gulf Coast Real Estate Consultants and Wireless Services, which began in the acquisition and servicing of cellular towers and became leaders in indoor antenna systems, including designing and implementing some of the largest in the world, including many NFL stadiums, airports and convention centers.
Arrangements are by Lakelawn, Metairie.
