Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1.

Mrs. McFaul was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas – Court St. Paul No. 1434. Lola was actively involved with her church parish and St. Bernard Catholic School.

She worked as a substitute teacher for the St. Martin Parish School Board for several years, and was better known to her students as, “Ms. Mac” – they loved her and she loved them as well. When she retired from substitute teaching, she then dedicated her free time to caring for her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored.

Lola was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time outdoors – she loved gardening. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake, treasuring any occasion to which she could do both for family gatherings.

She is survived by five sons, Jimmy McFaul and wife Andrea of Lafayette, Mike McFaul and wife Mikki of Breaux Bridge, David McFaul and wife Yvonne of Henderson, Steve McFaul and wife Sharon, and Robert McFaul and wife Angela, all of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Karen McFaul and Laura Mier and husband Allen “A.J.”, all of Breaux Bridge; 13 grandchildren, Alex, Adrienne, Wendy, Mike Jr., C.J., Nicholas, Jake, Kristen, Regan, Erin, Tanner, Paige and Drake; and 11 great-grandchildren, Molly, Kenny, Ian, Katelyn, Megan, Jack, Caynon, Paiton, Colston, Abbigail and Jasalynn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Hilda Broussard Dauterive; her husband, James Charles “J.C.” McFaul; a son, Jude McFaul; two sisters, Shirley D. Angelle and her husband Burt, and Lucille D. Campbell and her husband Ord; and her brother, Edward Dauterive and his wife Barbara “Bobbie.”

Pallbearers were Jimmy McFaul, Mike McFaul, David McFaul, Steve McFaul, Robert McFaul and Allen “A.J.” Mier.

Honorary pallbearers were James “Jake” McFaul, Ian Fuselier and Tanner Mier.

The family would like to extend their sincerest special thanks to Dr. Warren Degatur, Wendy Fuselier and their office staff, the staff of St. Martin Hospital, and her devoted caregivers, Vergie Lewis, Elaine Johnson, Rita Courville, Lailor Williams and Theresa Cudges, for their compassionate care and attention given to her during her time of need.
