It will focus on “locally produced fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs, plants, cut flowers, fresh eggs, and quality handcrafted items,” according to coordinator Linda Taylor.
She said more than a dozen vendors are already committed to the market and will offer a variety of items including garden produce, fresh eggs, fresh caught and cleaned catfish, plants, sweet dough pies, candy, jewelry, ceramics, crocheted baby things, art, watercolor and pressed flower note cards, baked items, and even lemonade from a stand run by two youngsters.
There is no fee for vendors, but they must register with Taylor, providing a name, contact information, and a list of items that will be offered for sale..
Anyone interested can contact Taylor at 826-6518 or by e-mail at mauiflyer@hotmail.com. The market is a project of the nonprofit Steamboat City Association.
