Henderson’s ‘hometown’ team

Henderson – The Board of Aldermen here paid tribute to the Cecilia Junior High School football team, managers and coaches at the board’s April 9 meeting.

Alderman Jody Meche spearheaded the effort to recognize the team which remains undefeated for the past two years. Several of the team’s members reside in Henderson.

Plaques were presented to each of the members of the football team, the managers, and to Head Coach Dwayne Dauphine and Assistant Coaches Brandon Nora and Kevin Wright (not present) for display at the school.

Meche congratulated the coaches and the players. He encouraged them to “...remember what it took to go undefeated...working as a team...” and to apply that to whatever they chose to do in the future.

Coach Dauphine thanked the Board and spoke of his pride in his team. He explained that part of what made the team work is that they all care about each other.

Team members include Raymond Calais, Cordell Batiste, River Scrantz, Trenton Dartez, Logan Trahan, Kaede Loque, Brylan Ray, Hunter Richard, Miles Landry, Trent Bergeron, Evan Evans, Dalton Williams, Caleb Seneca, Matthew Broussard, Anfernee Calais, Kenya Dartez, Blaise, Wiltz, Sonny Angelle, Blaine J. Richard, Brandon Williams, Micah Huval, Austin Kennison, Tarik Davis, Hunter Royer, Darius Gardner, Bailey Lasseigne, Keldrick Zenon, Rudy Robin, Jonathan Arceneaux, Kyle Guidry, Chance Goodie, Dreylen Duffy, Trenton Guidry and Chris Broussard. Managers are Micala Martel, Megan Semere and Kelly Dugas.
