Theriot set to give three scholarships

St. Martinville – Sheriff Ronny Theriot will be awarding three $1,000 scholarships to one senior from each parish high school.

The only limitations are the applicants must:

•Be a resident of St. Martin Parish.

•Be a senior at Breaux Bridge, Cecilia or St. Martinville Senior High Schools.

•Plan to be enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student for the fall semester of 2012.

•Be eligible for admission to the school indicated on the application.

•Show a financial need by providing a copy of their parent’s 2011 tax return.

•Submit a fully filled out application with all of the required documents attached.

There are no restrictions based on race, creed, color, age, sex, or national origin.

Applications will be distributed to the parish high schools, and will be available at the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, at 400 St. Martin Street, St. Martinville, or the C.I.T. Building (next to the substation), at 437 W. Mills Avenue, Breaux Bridge.

Applications must be completed by May 1, 2012. A committee of non-partisan citizens will review, evaluate and select the winners.

The winners will be announced by May 31.
