Radio Fest to be held in Rayne

Rayne – The Acadiana Amateur Radio Association will host its 52nd Annual Acadiana Hamfest and ARRL Louisiana State Convention at the Civic Center here on Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10.

The event features a crawfish boil on Friday at 6 p.m. and a Fais Do Do at 7 p.m. Advanced registration is required for the crawfish boil, and it costs $24 per person to attend. Advanced reservations must be in by Monday, Feb. 20.

There will also be door prizes and a raffle. Raffle tickets are $1 at the door. Prizes include:

•Grand prize: Icom IC-7200 HF+6M.

•2nd prize: MFJ 269 Antenna Analyzer.

•3rd prize: West Mountain Rigblaster Plus.

•4th prize: Astron RS-35M Power Supply.

•5th prize: Harbor Freight 800 watt generator.

•6th prize: Harbor Freight 800 watt generator.

Vendors at the event include Palmetto antennas, Regal-Brown, McM Computers, Sign Man of Baton Rouge, Austin Amateur Radio Supply, Gifts4Hams/Ham Plaques and JMR Sales.
