The investigation was initiated on Jan. 10 in reference to an alleged sexual abuse of a male juvenile. Through the course of the investigation, Batiste was identified as a suspect and was subsequently arrested.
If convicted, Batiste could be fined up to $5,000, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than 10 years, or both.
