St. Martinville – Qualifying for the March presidential preference primary election will open Wednesday, Dec. 7, and continue through Friday, Dec. 9, St. Martin Clerk of Court Becky P. Patin announced.

The election, in which Town of Henderson offices will be on the ballot along with Democrat and Republican state central committee and parish executive committee members, will be on Saturday, March 24.

Patin’s office at the Courthouse Annex in St. Martinville will be open for qualifying 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

Henderson offices on the ballot are mayor, police chief and Town Council members.

Fees must be paid in cash or money order. Personal checks will not be accepted.
