Fr. Keenan Brown will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Rachelle Lanclos and Hailee LaGrange. Gift bearers will be Melba Noel and Virginia Noel.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.
Mrs. Lalonde was a lifelong parishioner of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church and a former member of the Ladies Altar Society. She worked for many years at the cannery and had been a resident of J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home for several years, where she enjoyed many of the activities there, especially Bingo. She enjoyed listening to music and treasured the many opportunities she had spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Elridge Joseph Noel Sr. and wife Virginia of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Nola Mae Noel Lanclos and husband Howard of Arnaudville; two stepsons, Jimmy Lalonde and wife Mary of New Orleans, and Lester Lalonde and wife Gloria of Opelousas; a son-in-law, Leroy Melancon of Henderson; a daughter-in-law, Melba R. Noel of Grand Coteau; three brothers, Wilfred Miller and wife Joyce of Opelousas, Wilton Miller and companion Ella Meche of Grand Coteau, and Numa Miller and wife Mary Jane of Arnaudville; three sisters, Leta Guidry of Marksville, Arelia Simon and husband Anthony of Lafayette, and Nola LeBlanc of Arnaudville; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Moise Noel; second husband, Alex “Coachy” Lalonde; two sons, Johnny and Alton A. Noel; three daughters, Verna Mae Noel, Joyce Ann Noel and Zula Mae Noel Melancon; her parents, Daniel and Vianoila Dugas Miller; her sisters, Mable Trahan, Evelyn Arnaud and Wilma Richard; and her brother, Roman Miller.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Noel, Randy Noel, Elridge J. Noel Jr., Terry Melancon, Darrell Lanclos and Dwayne Lanclos.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Noel, Larry Noel, Gary Lanclos, Johnny Melancon and Graig Melancon.
