Breaux Bridge – St. Martin Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Milton Norris Alexander, 23, of Breaux Bridge on charges in connection with an Aug. 31 afternoon shooting on Roy J. Melancon road.

Alexander was charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Deputies responded on Aug. 31 to a call in reference to shots fired. Once arriving on scene, they learned about a disturbance between the caller, who was not identified, and Alexander. After the initial confrontation, Alexander allegedly returned and fired a round into a home that was occupied by two subjects.

No one was injured as a result of the gunfire and Alexander is currently being held in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center awaiting bond.
