Patrick Paul George
Valdosta, Ga. - On Thursday, July 7, the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested Patrick Paul George, 40, for obstruction of justice to first degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of Cory Sonnier, whose body was recently discovered at the Lake Martin boat landing.

Still at large is David James Anderson Jr., 19.

Both men have long histories of drug-related criminal charges in Lafayette Parish. George is due in court there on Aug. 8 on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and three counts of aggravated battery. Anderson skipped a June 30 drug court appearance in Lafayette on a charge of simple burglary.

Sonnier, 29, also of Lafayette Parish, was found by a kayaker around daybreak on Friday, June 25.

Extradition arrangements are currently in progress to return George back to Louisiana for processing.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of David James Anderson Jr. is urged to contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s office at (337) 394-3071.
