Ms. Eugenia Lawrence Worrel Goodrow of New Orleans and David and Debbie Worrel of Biloxi, Miss., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Worrel, to Michael Paul Hulin, son of C.J. and Laura Hulin of Lafayette. Mary Beth’s maternal grandparents are Mrs. Eugenia Lawrence Arceneaux of New Orleans and the late Harold Lawrence, and the late Edward Arceneaux. Her paternal grandparents are Mrs. Lucette Worrel of Bay St. Louis and the late Ronald Worrel. She is also the granddaughter of the late John and Jean Longo of Waveland, Miss. She graduated from Mercy Cross High School in 2003 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Louisiana State University in 2007, with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She is continuing her education at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where she is pursuing a joint MD/PhD degree. Michael’s maternal grandparents are Mrs. Yvonne Spikes of Lafayette and the late Richard Spikes. His paternal grandparents are the late Clarence Hulin of St. Martinville and the late Mabel Landry Hulin of Breaux Bridge. He graduated from Acadiana High School in 2003 and graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2007. He will graduate from LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine as a Doctor of Medicine in May, and will complete his residency training in Family Medicine at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie. The two will wed on June 4, 2011, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in New Orleans.
