SAND BAG DISTRIBUTION CONTINUES IN ST. MARTIN PARISH

(St. Martinville, La.) Since last Friday, approximately 258,000 sand bags have been distributed to residents of Stephensville, Belle River, and Butte Larose. Sand bag locations are listed below and sand bags will be available from 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. until

further notice. Beginning today, National Guardsmen will be supplementing personnel with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office in patrolling the Butte Larose, Happy Town, and the West Atchafalaya Protection Levee.



Empty sandbags will be distributed at the Stephensville Recreation Park on Hwy. 70 and then

residents will proceed to any of the six following sand distribution locations to fill their own sandbags:



Gravel Turnaround Across from Doiron's Landing on Hwy. 70

Stephensville Rd. across from the Stephensville Fire Station

East Stephensville Road at the Bus turn around near the Mosquito Bar

End of Four Mile Bayou Road

Water Tower on Tower Tank Road

Hwy. 70 Across from the Belle River Fire Station



In Butte Larose the sandbags will be at the Butte Larose Boat Ramp (located at the intersection of Herman Dupuis Road and the Atchafalaya River Hwy.) Residents will be responsible for bagging their own sand bags.



Information lines are now available to field any questions concerning the potential rising water. The hours of operation for the information lines will be from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and the numbers are as follows:
