Cecilia – Cecilia Jr. High School athletes dominated their division of the St. Martin Parish Relays held here April 8.

CJH runners claimed all 10 blue ribbons on the track side of the competition and won five of the six field events. Of the 45 medals awarded, the Bullpups collected 26.

CJH scored 108½ team points while St. Martinville Jr. High and Breaux Bridge Jr. High finished a distant second and third with 31 and 26½ points, respectively.

Raymond Calais and Jeremy Wiltz were standouts for the Bullpups. Calais won the 100 and 200 dashes and ran legs on CJH’s winning 4X100 and 4X200 relay quartets. He set a new record in the 200, covering the distance in 28.93 to nip the old record of 24.9 set in 2006 by Gerald Etienne of St. Martinville Jr. High.

Wiltz took gold in the high jump, long jump and triple jump.

Another double winner for CJH was Tyler Senegal, who finished first in both the shot put and discus.

No new parish records were set in the junior high division of the meet.
